Gosnell Movie: Abortionists are Scum with Government Protection

Sherlock
October09/ 2018

The movie “Gosnell” – about the trial of an abortion doctor who murdered babies born alive and whose malpractice caused two young woman to die – will open in theaters across the country on Friday, October 12.

It is fitting, because October 12 is the actual Columbus Day. Like Columbus’ quest, political considerations delayed the release of this important film.

There was a legitimate reason Queen Isabella held Chris back. She was fighting a war to unify Spain and eject jihadist murderers from the Iberian Peninsula. She and he husband King Fernando won the war in January 1492. They funded Columbus, and he set sail for the New World in the summer of that year.

Irish investigative documentary makers Phelim McAleer and his wife Ann McIlhinney got crowd funding to take on the Gosnell project. They raised the money in 2014, got the transcript of the grand jury report and info on the resulting trial that led to Gosnell’s convictions for murder, and put together a book and movie script based upon the judicial system records. They filmed in 2015, and released the book in 2017. The book, “Gosnell: The Untold Story of America’s Most Prolific Serial Killer,” sold well.

What hung up the film’s release, besides the hatred of the leftist lunatics and pervs who run Harveywood, was a defamation lawsuit by the judge in the trial.

This, per a 6/27/2017 article in The Hollywood Reporter:

Judge Jeffrey Minehart wants at least $50,000 from filmmakers Phelim McAleer and his wife, Ann McElhinney, whom he says have portrayed him in their book — and presumably in their film — as part of “Philadelphia’s liberal corrupt government,” soft on crime and laboring under conflicts of interest.

Minehart is also suing Salem Media Group, which owns conservative and Christian radio channels that have promoted the couple’s book and their movie, which is finished but hasn’t been released or sold, and he’s suing book publisher Regnery, which is owned by Salem.

Lawyers for Minehart also make a big deal of the political leanings of Salem and Regnery, listing books by authors like Dinesh D’Souza, Phyllis Schlafly, Michelle Malkin and David Limbaugh that they say “pit conservative heroes against corrupt liberals.” On the radio side, Salem syndicates national shows from Hugh Hewitt, Dennis Prager, Michael Medved, Larry Elder and Bill Bennett.

“They appear to publish with a predetermined agenda that colors everything they say and do,” attorney George Bochetto told The Hollywood Reporter on Friday. He wouldn’t discuss the political leanings of his client, though.

The lawyers say the book, Gosnell: The Untold Story of America’s Most Prolific Serial Killer, devotes 178 pages to describing Gosnell as “an evil, grotesque mass murderer” before then casting Minehart as part of the “uncaring bureaucracy” and “complicit establishment” that allowed him to, literally, get away with murder.

Lawyers are requesting “a mandatory permanent injunction” requiring the defendants to add a statement to the book and “any subsequent motion picture” saying that Minehart was selected by agreement of all the attorneys in the Gosnell case.

They also ask that McAleer and McElhinney correct allegedly false claims including how Minehart was a “drinking buddy” with Gosnell’s defense counsel and that he banned cameras from the courtroom.

If cameras were allowed in the courtroom thru the entire trial, why did they ned a courtroom artist? Or did the one media outlet not get the word?

Gosnell is serving a sentence of life without parole at SCI Huntingdon in Pennsylvania after he was convicted in 2013 on three counts of first-degree murder and one count of involuntary manslaughter.

The movie from McAleer and McElhinney is dubbed Gosnell and was made with $2.1 million the couple raised through crowdfunding at Indiegogo. It was written by Andrew Klavan, directed by actor Nick Searcy and executive produced by John Sullivan, who co-directed two of D’Souza’s documentary films. It stars Dean Cain as Det. James Wood, the protagonist, and Earl Billings as Gosnell.

Reached on Friday, McAleer reiterated that the book and film are accurate and based on interviews with Gosnell from prison along with the 280-page report of the grand jury, which says that Gosnell ran a seedy abortion clinic for decades and killed “hundreds” of “newborns” by sticking scissors into their necks.

While he said he cannot speak for Salem or Regnery or about the book, he vowed that the lawsuit would not prevent the eventual distribution of the film.

“Gosnell is a case about cover-ups; by the health department and by the media, and now a judge is trying it,” McAleer told THR. “Minehart may be a judge, but he needs to study his Constitutional law books. We have a First Amendent right to artistic expression. It’s sickening, and he can expect a vigorous legal response. The cover-up stops here.”

The parties settled the lawsuit in 2018. So the movie will come out this Friday.

Veteran character actor Earl Billings, who first gained notice in the 1970s TV series “What’s Happening!!” plays Kermit Gosnell.

Dean Cain, known for playing Clark Kent and Superman in “Lois and Clark,” plays the detective who led what he thought was going to be a drug raid until he found the fetal remains and the other sickening sights inside Gosnell’s abortion mill.

Janine Turner, the actress best know for her work in “Northern Exposure,” is also in the movie.

This movie is important, because even though it spotlights the sadistic butcher Gosnell, Gosnell is not the only whack job with a license who becomes an abuser once he starts doing abortions.

A minority of our followers are for abortion on demand. This is different than being for abortion in case of life of the mother, rape, or incest. I’m not here to judge you, but to inform you.

Besides, virtually all Democrat politicians and many GOP politicians are pro-abortion on demand. This is why abortion providers operate under almost no government scrutiny.  The film makers of “Gosnell” show Dr. Gosnell was able to beome such a monster because no government agent checked on him for almost two decades.

A survey of OB-GYNs found 11% of all OB-GYNs had four or more malpractice cases in their professional lives. Virtually every abortionist I have investigated is in this “elite” bottom 11%.

Most abortion providers started doing abortions when they failed at legitimate medicine. Or they did abortions to pay off debts, and found it hard to walk away from a business where they could treat women and girls like dirt (many abortionists are sex offenders) and not have to worry about most women and girls suing them. For to sue an abortionist, a woman or girl has to admit in court she was screwing around, got pregnant, and had an abortion. Abortion providers’ lawyers abuse female malpractice victims like defense attorneys abuse actual rape victims.

(This was why I mocked Christine Sixteen Blasey Ford and the other liars who falsely claimed Brett Kavanaugh abused them. Police deal with a lot of charlatans, and sadly sometimes they turn deaf ears to real victims due to all the fakers. The liars make it hard for real victims.)

Back to Gosnell.

I’m going to quote the left-of-center Wikipedia website on the real Kermit Gosnell:

“Gosnell owned and operated the Women’s Medical Society clinic in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and he was a prolific prescriber of OxyContin. In 2011, Gosnell and various co-defendant employees were charged with eight counts of murder, 24 felony counts of performing illegal abortions beyond the state of Pennsylvania’s 24-week time limit, and 227 misdemeanor counts of violating the 24-hour informed consent law. The murder charges related to an adult patient, Karnamaya Mongar, who died following an abortion procedure, and seven newborns said to have been killed by having their spinal cords severed with scissors after being born alive during attempted abortions. In May 2013, Gosnell was convicted of first degree murder in the deaths of three of the infants and involuntary manslaughter in the death of Karnamaya Mongar. Gosnell was also convicted of 21 felony counts of illegal late-term abortion, and 211 counts of violating the 24-hour informed consent law. After his conviction, Gosnell waived his right to appeal in exchange for an agreement not to seek the death penalty. He was sentenced instead to life in prison without the possibility of parole.”

“Known prior complaints:

1989 and 1993 – cited by Pennsylvania Department of Health for having no nurses in the recovery room.

1996 – censured and fined in both Pennsylvania and New York states, for employing unlicensed personnel.

Around 1996 – Pediatrician Dr Schwartz – the former head of adolescent services at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and as of 2010, Philadelphia’s health commissioner – testified in the 2010 hearing that around 1996 or 1997, he had hand-delivered a letter of complaint about Gosnell’s practice to the Secretary of Health’s office and stopped referring patients to the clinic, but received no response.

2000 – Civil lawsuit filed on behalf of the children of Semika Shaw, who had called the clinic the day after an abortion to report heavy bleeding, and died 3 days later of a perforated uterus and a bloodstream infection. The case alleged that Gosnell had failed to tell her to return to the clinic or seek emergency medical care. It was settled out of court in 2002 for $900,000.

Around 2001 – Gosnell claimed to be providing children’s vaccines under a program administered by the Health Department’s Division of Disease Control, but was repeatedly suspended for failing to maintain logs and for storing vaccines in unsanitary and inappropriate refrigerators, and at improper temperatures.

December 2001 – ex-employee Marcella Choung gave what the Grand Jury would later call “a detailed written complaint” to the Pennsylvania Department of State, one which she followed up with an interview in March 2002.

2006 – Civil lawsuit filed by patient but dismissed as out of time. The complaint was that Gosnell had been unable to complete an abortion, but then apparently failed or refused to call paramedics or other clinical emergency personnel, after the patient had needed help. The patient reported, “I really felt like he was going to let me die.”

In total during the course of his career, 46 known lawsuits had been filed against Gosnell over some 32 years.

Observers claimed that there was a complete failure by Pennsylvania regulators who had overlooked other repeated concerns brought to their attention, including lack of trained staff, “barbaric” conditions, and a high level of illegal late-term abortions.”

“2010 raid:

The Women’s Medical Society was raided on February 18th, 2010 under a search warrant by investigators from the FBI and state police. The raid was the result of a months-long investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Philadelphia Police Department, and the State’s Dangerous Drug-Offender Unit into suspected illegal drug prescription use at the practice. The investigation had also revealed the suspicious death of patient Karnamaya Mongar in 2009, which had in turn brought to light further information about unsanitary operations, use of untrained staff, and use of powerful drugs without proper medical supervision and control. Thus, when the February 2010 raid took place, staff from the Pennsylvania Department of State and Pennsylvania Department of Health also attended, as these issues were under their remit.

When the team members entered the clinic, they were appalled, describing it to the Grand Jury as ‘filthy,’ ‘deplorable,’ ‘disgusting,’ ‘very unsanitary, very outdated, horrendous,’ and ‘by far, the worst’ that these experienced investigators had ever encountered. There was blood on the floor. A stench of urine filled the air. A flea-infested cat was wandering through the facility, and there were cat feces on the stairs. Semi-conscious women scheduled for abortions were moaning in the waiting room or the recovery room, where they sat on dirty recliners covered with blood-stained blankets. All the women had been sedated by unlicensed staff – long before Gosnell arrived at the clinic – and staff members could not accurately state what medications or dosages they had administered to the waiting patients. Many of the medications in inventory were past their expiration dates… surgical procedure rooms were filthy and unsanitary… resembling ‘a bad gas station restroom.’ Instruments were not sterile. Equipment was rusty and outdated. Oxygen equipment was covered with dust, and had not been inspected. The same corroded suction tubing used for abortions was the only tubing available for oral airways if assistance for breathing was needed…

[F]etal remains [were] haphazardly stored throughout the clinic– in bags, milk jugs, orange juice cartons, and even in cat-food containers… Gosnell admitted to Detective Wood that at least 10 to 20 percent… were probably older than 24 weeks [the legal limit]… In some instances, surgical incisions had been made at the base of the fetal skulls. The investigators found a row of jars containing just the severed feet of fetuses. In the basement, they discovered medical waste piled high. The intact 19-week fetus delivered by Mrs. Mongar three months earlier was in a freezer. In all, the remains of 45 fetuses were recovered … at least two of them, and probably three, had been viable.”

Gosnell’s license to practice was suspended on 22 February 2010, and these and other findings were presented to a Grand Jury on 4 May 2010. Public discussion focused on claims of unsanitary conditions and other unacceptable conditions at the practices. Media reports stated that furniture and blankets were stained with blood, freely roaming cats deposited their feces wherever they pleased, and that non-sterilized equipment was used and reused on patients. According to the grand jury report, patients were given labor-inducing drugs by staff who had no medical training. Once labor began, the patient would be placed on a toilet. After the fetus fell into the toilet, it would be fished out, so as not to clog the plumbing. In the recovery room, patients were seated on dirty recliners covered in blood-stained blankets. Prosecutors alleged that Gosnell had not been certified in either gynecology or obstetrics. The Grand Jury estimated that Gosnell’s practice “took in $10,000 to $15,000 a night” additional to income from his exceedingly high level of prescriptions.”

The raid happened because of drugs, not because of the appalling surgeries. Health authorities hadn’t inspected Gosnell’s slaughterhouse for close to two decades to see how he was doing abortions. Abortion providers have as much protection as Hillary donors.

Again, from Wikipedia:

“Lack of government oversight:

Reports state that state officials had failed to visit or inspect Gosnell’s practices since 1993. The grand jury report noted that the medical examiner of Delaware County alerted the Pennsylvania Department of Health that Gosnell had performed an illegal abortion on a 14-year-old who was thirty weeks pregnant; it is also claimed the Pennsylvania Department of Health did not act when they became aware of Gosnell’s involvement in the death of Karnamaya Mongar.

In 2011, it was reported that none of Pennsylvania’s 22 abortion clinics had been inspected by the government for more than 15 years. Inspections (other than those triggered by complaints) had ceased under Ridge’s governorship, as they were perceived to create a barrier to women seeking abortion services.”

Tom Ridge is a Republican and a neverTrumper. He supported Jeb Bush and John Kasich.

The media paid little heed to the Gosnell case because it didn’t fit their narrative of “safe and legal abortion.”

After the Gosnell case became known, other abortionists and their flacks claimed Gosnell was not a good abortionist like they were.

That apparently didn’t stop Planned Parenthood officials in Texas from interfering with a preview of the Gosnell movie a few days ago.

Carly Hoilman, a writer for the Faithwire website, posted this on 9/27/2018:

“Producers of the upcoming film, “Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer,” continue to face intense backlash as the movie approaches its Oct. 12 release date. In the latest incident, filmmakers Phelim McAleer, Ann McElhinney and Magdalena Segieda claim a pre-screening of the film that was set to take place Saturday at the Hyatt Hotel in Austin, Texas, was cancelled after hotel management caved under pressure from abortion giant Planned Parenthood.

In an email sent out to supporters over the weekend, the producers explain that the screening was originally scheduled to coincide with a $400-a-plate Planned Parenthood gala dinner being held nearby:

“It gave a real choice to the people of Austin. Many had already registered to attend the screenings and we were receiving dozens of new RSVPs every day. But now thanks to the bullying of Planned Parenthood and the cowardice of the Hyatt they won’t get to see the Gosnell movie and the truth about abortion.”

“They put pressure on the Hyatt to cancel the booking,” producer Phelim McAleer told Faithwire in an email Wednesday. “The Hyatt told us it was cancelled for ‘security reasons.’ Well we are not going to cause any trouble so obviously it looks like the trouble was threatened by Planned Parenthood — they are bullies and the Hyatt caved.”

The Gosnell Movie Team: Magdalena Segieda, Phelim McAleer, Ann McElhinney

If Gosnell is such an outlier of the abortion racket, then why did Planned Parenthood officials evidently interfere with the screening of a movie about him?

Because the abortion racket is lousy with vermin like Gosnell. They just haven’t been caught yet.

I will follow up in future columns with info on these scumbags. The courthouses bulge with their malpractice cases. The morgues have seen their dead.

Whether you are for abortion or against it, if you can, see this movie and support it. It is excellent historical and crime nonfiction. And it is a middle finger to Harveywood. That’s artistic expression even those freaks can understand.

A moviehouse guide follows. Who says I’m not a good wingman?
