“HOW TO BE YOR OWN DETECTIVE” FOR SALE

$29.95 + $8.00 priority mail = $37.95

HOW TO BE YOUR OWN DETECTIVE is a guide for real people on how to check on just about anyone. This book takes you through the basic public records governments keep, how to access them, and how to put them to use.

HOW TO BE YOUR OWN DETECTIVE, written by veteran newsman and litigation support consultant Kevin Sherlock, contains tactics hard-hitting enough for professional investigators, but easy enough for most people to do. Sherlock gives detailed instructions on how to perform these tasks, most of which are fairly simple. If there is dirt on someone, Sherlock shows you how to dig it up readily, legally, and ethically. He also shows you how to put the info to use.

Using actual murder, rape, arson, corruption, malpractice, fraud, white collar crime, and other cases he and others have worked, Sherlock shows you how to find the info to expose or exonerate those you need to check on. He also shows you how to do prenuptial investigations, check on schools, and fight sex offenders.

This book contains the examples of “ordinary” people who become heroes advancing justice. Some are clients of Sherlock; others are people he interviewed or knows about. They used public records and related tools to help themselves or others.

Sherlock’s approach is that of a muckraking reporter using the freedom of information laws of the country and interviewing skills to get at the truth. His approach is also the approach of a tough parent putting pressure on public officials and others when they act like delinquents. Muckrakers and parents don’t need badges or PI licenses or exotic data bases. They just need smarts and guts and good character. This can be your approach too.

The book has chapters on the following skills:
• Know basic personal records on people.
• Use the Internet as an investigative tool.
• Look up a target’s criminal records.
• Look up a target’s lawsuit records.
• Do prenuptial investigations.
• Research divorces and restraining orders.
• Research car, driver and accident records.
• Check fire, EMT, and police records.
• Research real estate records.
• Do background checks.
• Check corporate records.
• Check those with professional licenses.
• Collect just debts.
• Check politicians’ holdings, donors, and decisions.
• Check how government officials use power.
• Check schools for failure to teach children and failure to stop sex offender teachers.
• Fight sex offenders and government people who protect them.

Sherlock teaches all these skills, and discusses cases to show you how he and others used these skills to protect the innocent and harm the guilty.

Nellie Bly, on the book’s cover, was a self-made detective, muckraker, and war reporter. She had grip, traveled fast, and dug like a steam shovel.

If you’re mad at a merchant, curious about a love, interested in property, checking on a business offer, seeking to oust a harmful politician, or worried about your children’s education and safety, you can use this book.

This is a “big book.” It is 8.5 x 11, almost 300 pages, and has more than 220,000 words of advice, instruction, and case work. This is double to triple the content of most “investigation” books. It also has a very thorough table of contents for finding topics, and an extensive index for finding specifics.

Homeland security begins when you and your loved ones are protected. Sherlock shows you how to use public records you have helped pay for to protect yourself and those you love.
