We tend not to remember our history, because we are busy living life. Not many are old as I am – and for guys in their 70s, my memory of history has a lot more bandwidth than the norm. Why?
I am still working for a living, investigating civil cases and criminal matters.
I am still reading. Yeah, it might be true crime articles or criminology books, or the Bible, or court evidence, or other government records, or true history, but I am still reading, which is important for everyone, especially codgers like me.
I’m not swapping drugs with other seniors, or raiding my kids’ or my grandkids’ medicine cabinets or stashes of edibles.
I can make my own wine, hard cider, and liqueurs, but don’t overindulge in my own liquids or those I can buy. And I’m not overburdened with prescription poisons either.
So what’s the point of the opening bloviation?
Simply this – using the mind gainfully helps you function all your life. My parents, uncles, aunts, and most of their friends lacked my formal education but they learned a lot by doing, and by working, instead of vegetating in front of the boob tube.
Even prehistoric men and women observed the stars and the planets and the moon, and thru generations of observations and passing down knowledge verbally and graphically, they associated planting, harvesting, migration, fishing, and other activities with the cycles of the earth and the heavens. They kept some sort of tally of their own lines, and they scribed and painted representations of people, animals, buildings, religious devotions, and other items that were important to them.
People scribed info on slates or soft clay tablets or on hides or on wooden planks. Much of the Hebrew scriptures were committed to hard surfaces, and committed to memory, to be passed on to others of the Jewish faith. Pagans did similar things to record their beliefs. Even Native Americans and Africans and Aboriginal and Pacific Islander peoples had a sense of the Great Spirit – a Being from Whom life came, and who had the power to create and end life for a reason, or because people and other forms of life got in the way of forces of nature like storms, hurricanes, volcanoes, tidal waves, glaciers, and the like.
As they invented paper and parchment and printing, the record keeping abilities of people increased. Catholic and Orthodox Christians naturally printed the Bible and the histories of their peoples when they had access to printing. The peoples of Asia and North Africa likewise recorded their histories and religious or spiritual beliefs.
Commerce, warfare, the invention of electrical and electronic communications gear, and the invention of computers and like electronic devices have given people even more access to history and science and religion and other areas of human knowledge and human endeavor.
So we don’t have to have a photographic memory of history to learn it. All we need now are books and the Internet, filtered by our learning and life experiences, and common sense that led us to make better choices.
My further point is that people need to know the past to avoid making similar mistakes in the future.
In a few days we will be electing the people who will govern as executives and legislators. Some of us will directly elect judges. All of us who vote will choose which executives and legislators get to pick the judges and administrators who rule on the law and write the regulations and policies and hire the people that are supposed to make the will of the people get done.
There are three competing sides in this election, and all those to come. There is the side of those who hate this country’s institutions, there is the side of those of us who love our way of life, and there is the side of the Establishment – those who want to limit our freedoms enough to control us but not enough so we rebel or at least stop producing so much that they can’t grow as rich parasiting on our labors.
There are cases coming up in the courts that – if decided the wrong way – will screw our way of life for the foreseeable future, and maybe forever. Let’s look at these cases.
The Lindsay Clancy case, triggered by a guy’s cheating, and his wife’s decision to get free of her maternal duties by killing their children, led to a massive abortion of justice in Massachusetts. Eleven people, mostly leftist Karens who want to make it easier for women to escape the consequences of their actions, ruled Lindsay Clancy was not guilty by reason of insanity. One man, a Haitian immigrant with some integrity, stood for traditional Judeo-Christian values and voted to convict Lindsay Clancy of homicide because of her plotting before and the day of the killings of her three little children. Other jurors, politicians, and courthouse employees, as well as Lindsay’s shyster lawyers and activist supporters, doxxed the man of African blood and have put his life and livelihood and liberty – and those of his loved ones – in jeopardy because they are selfish jerks and/or groupthink fascists.
Jared Downing, in a 10/23/2026 New York Post article, noted women in Pennsylvania, Indiana, Illinois, and North Dakota killed their children after following the sympathetic treatment of Lindsay Clancy. A woman in Texas also tried to kill her child but failed, according to Downing. He said there is worry among some in the criminal justice and child services fields that Lindsay’s escape from justice will trigger more such willful killings of children by mothers.
Meanwhile, lawyers for Timothy Hudson, the 16-year-old blond-haired masturbatory Florida punk who sneak-attacked, raped, and willfully killed his 18-year-old stepsister Ana Kepner while the extended family was on a sea cruise, are trying to game the system to minimize his punishment.
Timmy the Punk’s mother, Anna’s father, and the grandparents and various members of that extended and presumably intertangled and inbred group of blended family members, have taken various public positions. Some say poor widdow Timmy is fwightened being in jail awound big bad adult cwiminals. The parents and step-parents are claiming they cut off Widdow Timmy. Why? They were the ones who forced Anna to bunk with him in the same room on the cruise. She didn’t want to go, or be in the same private room with him. But her dad, who presumably wanted his wick wetted and his wallet fuller, and Timmy’s mom, who presumably wanted her entry ports, her studmuffin, and her young son to be vewwy vewwy happy, ignored Anna.
This is like the Mama June Booboo crime and inbreeding TV show. For those of you with better things to do than watch trash TV, she is also known as June Shannon, the obese Georgia sow who pimped her daughter Honey Boo Boo in little girl beauty pageants and on “reality TV.” She also let one of the several scumbags who rutted in her unsanitary plumbing rape her daughter Anna Cardwell (known to the public as Chickadee Cardwell) repeatedly when she was younger than 10, then said Anna was lying about it. Allegedly one of June’s other bedroom buddies was also a rapist. Anna died of cancer a couple of years ago, and Mama June evidently exploited her death for money and publicity. TV Guide couldn’t write a better summary.
There are a number of abortion issues on the ballots in various states in a few days. Also, judges and those who want to be judges, who decide child custody, punishment for rapists (if any), and when life begins are on the ballot.
In Virginia, the Democrats, from governor Abigail Spanberger to previous governors Terry McAuliffe (a bagman and fixer for the Clintons) and Ralph (Nazi) Northam, want abortion to be legal up until birth. They are presumably OK with abortion turning into infanticide if the baby survives the abortion and isn’t fast enough to crawl away and hide.
People of similar sewer-level values in other states, a few GOPers but nearly all Democrats, favor similar laws in their states. They also are for pimping abortion pills to women and girls without health screening or prescriber exams or malpractice insurance or health inspections, which is objectively harmful to the females’ health but beneficial to the profits of abortionists and Big Pharma. These abortions are also beneficial to rapists and incestors and statutory rapists, whose vile acts led to the practical need for these criminals to cover up their crimes.
You may have noticed the rioting in favor of illegals staying in America so they can collect welfare state boodle and impose their twisted native habits on the girls, boys, pets, and livestock of America. You might have also noticed all the NeverTrumper judges of both party establishments ruling against President Trump for trying to keep illegals from staying here so they can commit more crimes, drive intoxicated or clueless or unsafely on our roads, soak up more welfare, burden the school systems and healthcare systems, soak up housing on government-subsidized shelter programs that throw poorer whites, blacks, and Latino citizens out of reasonable cost housing, undercut the wages of American workers, and vote illegally to keep such marks of diversity, inclusion, and equity as features of the New Order in the United States.
The illegals were not vetted for the Needle. On the other hand, most citizens were subject to varying degrees of Vaxx Nazi control. Officials who exhibited Vaxx Nazi behavior tended to be Democrats or NeverTrump GOPers.
Now for some political incorrectness.
Let’s look at the victims of the policies pushed by the enemies of We the People.
Now for some voting advice. IF YOU WANT MORE VICTIMS LIKE THOSE YOU JUST SAW, VOTE FOR DEMOCRATS OR STAY HOME AND DON’T VOTE AT ALL. IF YOU DON’T WANT THIS, IGNORE ALL THE FAKE POLLS THAT UNDERSAMPLE TRUMP AND GOP VOTERS BY SEVERAL PERCENT AND MAKE YOUR DEMANDS COUNT BY VOTING AGAINST THESE SWINE.
I hate to say it, but you will have to vote a straight Republican ticket until further notice if you want yourselves, your loved ones, your descendants, and this country to avoid the plagues the enemies of this nation want to impose on you if they secure majorities at the national level and in the states, counties, cities, and towns.
Some of the people you vote for will be the political equivalent of venereal disease. But the Democrats and their friends as a party and as movements aimed at gaining control are the political equivalent of AIDS.
After this election is over, I have some further advice for you.
You are your own detective and your own first responder.
Learn first aid, learn how to preserve food or at least stockpile it, learn gardening skills or at least work out a deal with U-pick farmers or community based urban growers, and stockpile energy. Buy vegetable seeds and bare root or potted fruit saplings and berry plants.
Obtain books that teach such skills and basic survival skills. There are a lot of good books and articles on line and a lot of good used books that teach such skills. Believe it or not, the Boy Scout Field Book and a number of their outdoorsman merit badge manuals contain good advice on basic survival skills. We used the Robinsons’ “Have-More Plan” book in setting up our own farm. We also used Booker T. Whatley’s book “How To Make $100,000 Farming 25 Acres” extensively.
Learn how to hunt. Depending on zoning, you can raise chickens, ducks, goats, or sheep. They are small enough and easy enough to look after, and their wastes are manageable. Goats will pose a chewing and escape problem, so bear that in mind.
Get into reasonable physical shape. This can be related to your job, your increased gardening and gathering work, or your and your children’s recreational activities. Hiking and walking are basic. Upper body work helps you burn weight and work your cardio and respiratory systems if done reasonably. Try to make it something to look forward to, not dread. My go-tos are pounding the heavy bag, doing pushups, walking, and the pedaling the stationary bike. (Real bikes are even better.) I shadow-box while watching sports or crime shows.
Obtain weapons. This ranges from tools like knives and hatchets and shovels and pitchforks and bayonets and large wrenches to multi-use walking sticks, bear spray, mace, non-lethal but hurtful items like shockers, gas cartridge shooters, and livestock prods, on up to rifles, shotguns, and pistols. It also includes ammo and projectiles. Obtain training. Keep a low profile. Avoid obvious provocateurs and self-styled badasses of both sexes. Gun store and firing range people can steer you to others like you, or you and your group of friends might scout out the landscape.
Learn self-defense. Remember kids learn differently from adults. Often a woman instructor has more patience with children. Men and women, train with those who are looking to help you instead of just trying to flex. Jack LaLanne and Bruce Tegner, two smaller-than-average men, were very successful fitness and self-defense trainers of women and teens. I found Bruce Tegner’s books at rummage sales when I was a four-eyed 97-pound weakling who got beat up a lot. Adult men, test your mettle with tougher trainers when you achieve some reasonable level of competence. Men and women, associate with those who share your personal and family goals. Avoid obvious provocateurs and self-styled badasses of both sexes. Mix self-defense training into your children’s play and chore times, so it is more like fun and less like work or a drill. When I was a teen, Dad and my uncles took time away from their relaxation to spar with me and teach me how to defend myself. This, in tandem with my pals and I using techniques from the Bruce Tegner books, is how I started on the way to being a competitive boxer, wrestler, and karate practitioner.
Learn your nation’s history. Learn the histories of the other continents to give your own ethnicity some perspective as to how your people developed and what problems they had to deal with. My ancestry and 99’s ancestry are Irish and Slavic – they fought the Brits, the Vikings, North African Moslems, the Turks and their subjects, Germans, Hapsburgs, Nazis, and Communists. They had to maintain their cultures and religious practices despite occupation and oppression.
Learn about those who have power and who want power in your community and county, in your state, and nationally. You’ll be better equipped to fight evil school people, charlatan religious and social worker types, moneyed people and their fixers, lawyers and politicians, and the police and administrators who do their bidding. Believe it or not, the sheriff might be your best ally because he is an elected official. You are his boss. The police chief is a hired hand of the dominant faction in control of your town or city. He owes his allegiance to them. The sheriff owes his allegiance to you and often will act that way.
If you have to deal with government people, show surface politeness. In most cases they aren’t out to get you personally. But remember they owe their jobs to the system. Your job is to get them to help you, so use some common sense in getting them to do so.
On the other hand, know your rights. Assert them as calmly and reasonably as possible. If they get crazy, then know how to bypass them or get someone to make them do their jobs. We will talk more about this in the coming months.
What if you are single … and especially away from home? This advice is self-evident to old-timers, but younger people haven’t had the experience in life, and sometimes are overwhelmed by the nonsense they hear aimed at people in their age bracket. So at the risk of sounding like Captain Obvious, I suggest the following:
Return to your roots. When I was in the Army, I became an excellent writer. I wrote letters to family and friends and occasionally strangers whose problems reached me and to whom I could offer some advice. I embraced my military and civilian parish communities. I associated with other soldiers and military families and civilian families who shared my values. I dated gals who shared my religion, my basic values, and my beliefs.
If you are at college or out on your own in the work world, you can do likewise. I dated gals I attended night school with if I thought we were on the same page in life. I tended not to bring my love life into my workplaces. But there were women who merited exceptions.
Working at charity events and socializing with other people in your age and situation bracket who share your general values will help you. Seek out, not necessarily the most good-looking or magnetic or well-off or influential member of the opposite sex you can date, but keep company with the person whose personality and goals and values mesh the best with your own. Opposites attract, but people going the same way pull together and stay together the best. Be honest and fair and honorable with those you date … it takes quality to attract and keep quality!
One bit of fun advice – if you are patriotic, attend re-enactments. You’ll meet a lot of members of the opposite sex who are into what you are into. They will be more interesting and thoughtful than the people you meet at the office or at the local hotspots.
The more happy and more well-adjusted couples there are, the better the chances the community and nation have of staying together. I want as many of you to be happy and productive and decent as possible. Please pray for that for for 99 and me and our friends and loved ones as well.
