THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE IS A FIREWALL AGAINST MACHINE POLITICS FRAUD

Sherlock
March24/ 2019

One of my best readers and a friend of mine since we played keep-away on the grounds of our parish school in the early 1960s contacted me yesterday and asked me to step out of my investigator role and into my history teacher role for a column.

Marcus T, my long-time pal, said since public schools and colleges are teaching leftist propaganda instead of American history, the public could use a tutorial on the Electoral College.

Coeds from our parish high school at library, 1965

Marcus T is a moldmaker machinist. He is a king in the blue collar world. He designs and makes the molds used to make iron and aluminum and other metal castings for parts in aviation and a hundred other industries. This means he knows trig and algebra backwards and forwards, so he can calculate where he needs to cut to make molds. This means he knows machining and metallurgy so the molds and the parts will come out right. It is hard enough to design a part …. he designs the molds that make the parts.

Marcus T is a professional. All you psychologists, political scientists, and social justice diversity HR types with degrees in lesbian studies can pound sand. Marcus T would charitably advise you to avoid pounding casting sand. It could be a little hot after molten metal is poured into it.

For Marcus T and all the other “Valiants” who have tuned in, here it is.

The Electoral College was not a way for the Founding Fathers to protect slavery, like prominent Democrat liars say. (I realize “Democrat liars” is a redundancy.)

Bur since they are all campaigning to end the Electoral College and lying about it, their lies bear refuting.

Constitutional Convention. George Washington, America’s original Man in Black.

I will cover the origin of the Electoral College, the few close elections they had to determine, and why the Electoral College is a good idea even today.

The short answer? The Electoral College is a firewall against national vote fraud that would queer the vote in a popular vote presidential contest every time. That’s not how the Founding Fathers designed it, but the unintended consequence of the Electoral College is to limit the damage election fraud felons can cause.

Now for the history.

The electoral vote process was not a slavery-protecting law but a compromise on how to choose a president. It was a way to protect the influence of large states without crushing the small states. It was a way to prevent corruption and mob rule.

Some of the Founding Fathers, like Alexander Hamilton, favored choosing an American president for life.

George Washington, the only man with the sense of responsibility and stature to be leader for life, opposed the idea. In fact, after he won the Revolutionary War, he went back to his plantation. He was like Cincinnatus, the appointed Roman dictator, who two different times turned his power back to the Senate and went back to his small farm after he beat Rome’s enemies in a war, and after he later put down an uprising.

The name “Cincinnati” is plural for “Cincinnatus.” The settlers of that city honored Washington by comparing him to Cincinnatus. Evidently frontier l’arnin’ was better at ancient history than what our kids get in public skools today. (We learned about Cincinnatus in fifth grade at our parish school.)

Some favored a direct vote for a president. Most of the Founding Fathers opposed this, because they feared a demagogue could BS enough people to get elected. They feared mob rule.

Others suggested a vote of members of Congress. This would have obliged the president to Congress and would have crushed the little states. To show you why, of the 13 originals states, Virginia had 10 members of Congress, Pennsylvania had 8, Massachusetts had 8, and New York and Maryland each had 6, for a total of 38. Remember, the House of Representatives is proportional, based upon population. The other eight states (Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Delaware, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia) had 27.

Others suggested a vote of governors. This would have been unfair to the big states, as little states would have more weight in deciding the president than they would have. This would have also obliged the president to the governors.

The “Electoral College” compromise – in which states got electoral votes equal to their numbers of congressmen and senators – still ensured the larger states would be more important but the smaller states would have a little more juice than their populations warranted. For a presidential election, the 13 states listed above would have 91 electoral votes total. The five larger states would have 48 electoral votes, and the eight smaller states would have 43. (All states have two senators each.)

Alexander Hamilton

Alexander Hamilton, under the pen name “Publius,” wrote this essay for the newspapers to justify the inclusion of the electoral plan in the Constitution and to urge legislators to ratify the Constitution to replace the Articles of Confederation. It is know to history as Federalist Paper No. 68. IT IS A PUBLIC RECORD. READ IT AND WEEP, “HAMILTON” FANS.

“To the People of the State of New York:

THE mode of appointment of the Chief Magistrate of the United States is almost the only part of the system, of any consequence, which has escaped without severe censure, or which has received the slightest mark of approbation from its opponents. The most plausible of these, who has appeared in print, has even deigned to admit that the election of the President is pretty well guarded. I venture somewhat further, and hesitate not to affirm, that if the manner of it be not perfect, it is at least excellent. It unites in an eminent degree all the advantages, the union of which was to be wished for.

Snowflake alert: In Hamilton’s time, all office holders were males.

It was desirable that the sense of the people should operate in the choice of the person to whom so important a trust was to be confided. This end will be answered by committing the right of making it, not to any preestablished body, but to men chosen by the people for the special purpose, and at the particular conjuncture.

It was equally desirable, that the immediate election should be made by men most capable of analyzing the qualities adapted to the station, and acting under circumstances favorable to deliberation, and to a judicious combination of all the reasons and inducements which were proper to govern their choice. A small number of persons, selected by their fellow-citizens from the general mass, will be most likely to possess the information and discernment requisite to such complicated investigations.

It was also peculiarly desirable to afford as little opportunity as possible to tumult and disorder. This evil was not least to be dreaded in the election of a magistrate, who was to have so important an agency in the administration of the government as the President of the United States. But the precautions which have been so happily concerted in the system under consideration, promise an effectual security against this mischief. The choice of SEVERAL, to form an intermediate body of electors, will be much less apt to convulse the community with any extraordinary or violent movements, than the choice of ONE who was himself to be the final object of the public wishes. And as the electors, chosen in each State, are to assemble and vote in the State in which they are chosen, this detached and divided situation will expose them much less to heats and ferments, which might be communicated from them to the people, than if they were all to be convened at one time, in one place.

Nothing was more to be desired than that every practicable obstacle should be opposed to cabal, intrigue, and corruption. These most deadly adversaries of republican government might naturally have been expected to make their approaches from more than one quarter, but chiefly from the desire in foreign powers to gain an improper ascendant in our councils. How could they better gratify this, than by raising a creature of their own to the chief magistracy of the Union? But the convention have guarded against all danger of this sort, with the most provident and judicious attention. They have not made the appointment of the President to depend on any preexisting bodies of men, who might be tampered with beforehand to prostitute their votes; but they have referred it in the first instance to an immediate act of the people of America, to be exerted in the choice of persons for the temporary and sole purpose of making the appointment. And they have excluded from eligibility to this trust, all those who from situation might be suspected of too great devotion to the President in office. No senator, representative, or other person holding a place of trust or profit under the United States, can be of the numbers of the electors. Thus without corrupting the body of the people, the immediate agents in the election will at least enter upon the task free from any sinister bias. Their transient existence, and their detached situation, already taken notice of, afford a satisfactory prospect of their continuing so, to the conclusion of it. The business of corruption, when it is to embrace so considerable a number of men, requires time as well as means. Nor would it be found easy suddenly to embark them, dispersed as they would be over thirteen States, in any combinations founded upon motives, which though they could not properly be denominated corrupt, might yet be of a nature to mislead them from their duty.

Another and no less important desideratum was, that the Executive should be independent for his continuance in office on all but the people themselves. He might otherwise be tempted to sacrifice his duty to his complaisance for those whose favor was necessary to the duration of his official consequence. This advantage will also be secured, by making his re-election to depend on a special body of representatives, deputed by the society for the single purpose of making the important choice.

Our President Takin’ Care of Business. Photo by my associate the Fighting Preacher. We were at Presidet Trump’s rally in Ohio in October 2018. Hamilton: “The Executive should be independent for his continuance in office on all but the people themselves.”

All these advantages will happily combine in the plan devised by the convention; which is, that the people of each State shall choose a number of persons as electors, equal to the number of senators and representatives of such State in the national government, who shall assemble within the State, and vote for some fit person as President. Their votes, thus given, are to be transmitted to the seat of the national government, and the person who may happen to have a majority of the whole number of votes will be the President. But as a majority of the votes might not always happen to centre in one man, and as it might be unsafe to permit less than a majority to be conclusive, it is provided that, in such a contingency, the House of Representatives shall select out of the candidates who shall have the five highest number of votes, the man who in their opinion may be best qualified for the office.

The process of election affords a moral certainty, that the office of President will never fall to the lot of any man who is not in an eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications. Talents for low intrigue, and the little arts of popularity, may alone suffice to elevate a man to the first honors in a single State; but it will require other talents, and a different kind of merit, to establish him in the esteem and confidence of the whole Union, or of so considerable a portion of it as would be necessary to make him a successful candidate for the distinguished office of President of the United States. It will not be too strong to say, that there will be a constant probability of seeing the station filled by characters pre-eminent for ability and virtue. And this will be thought no inconsiderable recommendation of the Constitution, by those who are able to estimate the share which the executive in every government must necessarily have in its good or ill administration. Though we cannot acquiesce in the political heresy of the poet who says: “For forms of government let fools contest That which is best administered is best,” yet we may safely pronounce, that the true test of a good government is its aptitude and tendency to produce a good administration.

The Vice-President is to be chosen in the same manner with the President; with this difference, that the Senate is to do, in respect to the former, what is to be done by the House of Representatives, in respect to the latter.

The appointment of an extraordinary person, as Vice-President, has been objected to as superfluous, if not mischievous. It has been alleged, that it would have been preferable to have authorized the Senate to elect out of their own body an officer answering that description. But two considerations seem to justify the ideas of the convention in this respect. One is, that to secure at all times the possibility of a definite resolution of the body, it is necessary that the President should have only a casting vote. And to take the senator of any State from his seat as senator, to place him in that of President of the Senate, would be to exchange, in regard to the State from which he came, a constant for a contingent vote. The other consideration is, that as the Vice-President may occasionally become a substitute for the President, in the supreme executive magistracy, all the reasons which recommend the mode of election prescribed for the one, apply with great if not with equal force to the manner of appointing the other. It is remarkable that in this, as in most other instances, the objection which is made would lie against the constitution of this State. We have a Lieutenant-Governor, chosen by the people at large, who presides in the Senate, and is the constitutional substitute for the Governor, in casualties similar to those which would authorize the Vice-President to exercise the authorities and discharge the duties of the President.

PUBLIUS.”

The “Electoral College” compromise was satisfactory to most of the Constitutional Convention and became part of the Constitution. Alexander Hamilton said the United States’ way of electing a president wasn’t perfect, but it was excellent. In other words, don’t let the unattainable “perfect” be the enemy of the very good.

In the election of 1796, Federalist John Adams narrowly beat Thomas Jefferson. So Adams became president and Democrat Jefferson became vice-president because he got the second most votes of the electors. This didn’t work out too well for the stability of the Adams administration.

Democrats Thomas Jefferson (the presumed presidential candidate) and Aaron Burr (the presumed vice presidential candidate) won the election of 1800 over John Adams and C. C. Pinckney. Burr, a schemer, started the tradition of sliming the opposition and getting New York City residents to vote early and often. Burr turned the Tammany Club in New York City into the Tammany Hall political machine. Burr also scammed to get a bank chartered by promising to fund a water supply for New York City; he reneged once he had the charter.

Problem is, Burr and Jefferson got the same number of electoral votes. Electors who were supposed to withhold a vote from Burr to ensure Jefferson’s election failed to do so, so the election went into the House of Representatives. Federalists angry at Jefferson voted for Burr. Finally, after 36 ballots, and after prolonged electioneering by Alexander Hamilton for his honorable rival Jefferson over the snake in the grass Burr, members of Congress chose Jefferson.

Aaron Burr. The First Crooked Democrat. Looks like Joe Biden.

In 1803, Congress enacted and Jefferson signed the proposed 12th Amendment, which would make electors note who their choice for president would be and who their choice for vice-president would be. In 1804, three-quarters of the states ratified the proposed amendment, and it became part of the Constitution. This is why vice-presidents and presidents come from the same party. Only once did this not happen after 1804 …. Honest Abe Lincoln picked loyal Tennessee Democrat Andrew Johnson to run with him in the election of 1864 on a platform of victory and merciful peace.

Now for the close elections, which the Democrats say are good reasons to eliminate the Electoral College.

In the election of 1824, no candidate got a majority of the electoral vote. So the election went to the House of Representatives, where Henry Clay threw his support to John Quincy Adams. Adams beat Andrew Jackson, who won the popular vote. Most people voted against Jackson because they considered him too risky. After Adams had a poor showing as president, voters were willing to give Jackson another chance in the election of 1828, and he rewarded them with two good terms.

In the election of 1860, Honest Abe Lincoln won 40% of the popular vote. Slave state officials kept him off the ballot in all slave state counties except for those in Kentucky, Missouri, the counties of western Virginia that became West Virginia, and Maryland and Delaware. Big time voter suppression by Democrats.

Southern Democrat John Breckenridge, the vice president in the Buchanan presidency, won 18% of the popular vote and carried 11 of the 15 slave states. John Bell won 12% of the popular vote and carried Tennessee, Kentucky, and Virginia. Northern Democrat Stephen Douglas, who won 30% of the popular vote, carried only the slave state Missouri. Three New Jersey electors were faithless and voted for Douglas. Lincoln carried all 18 free states, which had more than half the population and more than half the electoral votes. The system worked. The slave state vote split among three men, two of them Democrats. In all but five of the states where he was allowed on the ballot, Lincoln won easily.

In the election of 1876, New York Democrat Samuel Tilden won the popular vote but lost the electoral vote 185 to 184 to GOP Civil War veteran Rutherford Hayes. Hayes, the governor of Ohio, had defended runaway slaves before the Civil War and suffered five wounds during the war. Republican politicians promised to end Reconstruction in the last three Confederate states which had it in exchange for their electoral votes. Bribery? Sure. The Democrats did something far worse. They used force up to and including arson and murder to suppress the votes of blacks, who voted almost entirely Republican, in the states of the former Confederacy.

Democrats Woodrow Wilson and Bill Clinton, two of the worst to attain that high office, got in because their opponents split the vote against them. GOP power brokers succeeded in stealing the nomination from Theodore Roosevelt, so he ran as an independent. He and GOP nominee William Taft won far more votes than Wilson, but Wilson won where it counted, in the Electoral College. Without Taft and the establishment GOP stabbing him in the back, Teddy Roosevelt would have neutered Wilson.

Wilson, who was lying about wanting to keep America out of World War One, did not win a majority of the popular vote in the election of 1916 either. GOP candidate Charles Evans Hughes was close in the popular vote, and along with Socialist, Progressive, and Prohibitionist candidates, received more votes than Wilson did.

Due to the ego of Ross Perot, the anti-Clinton vote split and Bill got in with 43% of the popular vote in the 1992 election. Bush 41 would have handily won in 1992 without Perot in the race. Perot also ran in 1996; Clinton did not win a majority in that election either.

In the election of 1948, Harry Truman did not get 50% of the popular vote. But he beat GOP rival Tom Dewey, segregationist Democrat Strom Thurmond, and socialist Democrat Henry Wallace easily in the Electoral College. If Thurmond and Wallace had not run, Truman, a much more moral man than Electoral College kingpin FDR, would have carried almost all of the votes of those who voted for those two knucklehead fringe candidates. The system worked.

Bess and Harry Truman, Whistle Stop Tour, 1948

Al Gore “won” the popular vote largely due to election fraud in the election of 2000. Bush 43 narrowly won the electoral vote. If Gore had been able to con voters in his home state of Tennessee to vote for him instead of little Bush, he would have won. It didn’t happen; the voters who knew Ozone Al best rejected him.

Besides, Gore’s constant lying hurt him. I managed to break past the screeners on the Rush Limbaugh show two weeks before the election and mentioned Gore claimed he nursed to the “Union Label” song. Since this song came out in 1975 when Gore was 27, I ribaldly said, to a national audience, this implies Gore was an incestuous freak with his mom or he was stealing Tipper’s mother’s milk from his kids. They cut my call right there. But my phone rung off the hook all afternoon and all night from people around the country who heard me on the radio and laughed like hell. Did it affect any voters? I hope so.

In short, the Electoral College has worked in all but one election – that of 1876. And even then, the GOP man Hayes might have won if the all the racist yahoo Democrats did not burn, beat, and murder black voters.

Hillary lost in 2016, and the Democrats are looking at losing the presidential election again in 2020. Most voters are starting to see the Democrats are the party of crime, prosecutor and federal agent corruption, child predators, Jew haters, throwing away industrial jobs, cattle farting, illegal immigrant invasion, paid rioters, attacks on American history and culture, sexual deviancy, and infanticide. Most Republicans are not much better.

Planned Parenthood Poll Worker?

Protective mom Kristi Merrit makes valid point about cross-dressers who want to use girls’ bathrooms.

But the voters are distinguishing American fighter Donald Trump from Republican wimps and Democrat scumbags. Trump wants peace and prosperity. He is on the side of American workers against globalist corporations, and he is on the side of America’s military against the globalists who want to throw their lives away in foreign squabbles for people who hate us and our way of life. Short of catastrophic voter fraud, President Trump will be a two-term president.

This is why Dems want the Electoral College killed, along with voter ID and babies who survive abortions.

This is why the Dems want illegals voting, and 16-year-olds voting, and felons voting. If they have to commit crimes to win elections, they will commit them.

The Electoral College stands in their way.

In a direct popular vote, illegals in the big cities, the dead in the graveyards, and those in nursing homes, sanitariums, prisons, homeless shelters, and elsewhere away from society will vote Democrat. Early and often.

A case in point is Detroit. Many precincts reported more votes cast than voters who cast them. Then Dems tried to blame the Hillary vote inflation on black election workers, who they claimed were too stupid to use the vote counting machines properly.

Another is California. In the 2018 elections, eight GOP congressmen or congressional candidates who had leads the day after the elections lost because slimy Democrat organizers turned in hundreds of thousands of “harvested” ballots “from” the mentally ill, the senile, and others in whose names these ballots were cast.

Such crimes took place in states where leftist officials don’t check identities of voters.

Yet these very same animals require photo ID for driver licenses, welfare benefits, and other reasons.

In a popular vote election, you can count on Democrats to find extra ballots for themselves after the polls close.

The Electoral College is a firewall that confines organized election fraud to individual states. Right now, if all the graves in Chicago vote early and often for Democrats (a trend in that toddlin’ town for generations) the fraud is confined to Illinois. Democrat election cheats in Chicago can’t steal or invalidate votes in Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Indiana, Ohio, or Michigan.

Nor would illegals voting in California overwhelm elections in Utah, Arizona, Montana, Idaho or Wyoming. They could only further pollute the Golden State.

On the other hand, if the popular vote determined the presidency, there would be more concerted efforts to get fraudulently cast ballots in leftist states, and similar dirty tricks in states that are close. I predict Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Texas, Colorado, Nevada, and Arizona will be the scenes of Democrat vote fraud crimes in a close presidential race in 2020, regardless of the situation.

The Electoral College in 2016 motivated Donald Trump to visit many small states and many larger states like Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, given up for lost by sissy Republicans. Hillary didn’t trouble herself to go to small states or even to many mid-size or large states. She was too arrogant and lazy and hateful to ask these people for their votes.

Donald Trump’s 2016 Presidential Victory

Alexander Hamilton and the Founding Fathers wanted officeholders who had some success in life outside politics. That was part of the reason they imposed property and work qualifications on voters. They were looking for talented successful people to give up some of their time, serve in public office, then return to their private lives.

Hamilton: “Another and no less important desideratum was, that the Executive should be independent for his continuance in office on all but the people themselves. He might otherwise be tempted to sacrifice his duty to his complaisance for those whose favor was necessary to the duration of his official consequence.”

Donald Trump has been very successful in the private sector. He doesn’t need politics to amass money and power. And he didn’t get any help from the Republican establishment to get the nomination. They opposed him at every turn, and backstabbed him in the general election. He is not beholden to globalist corporations, leftist pressure groups, big donors, or anyone else but the millions of Americans who are not privileged. This is why he does the bidding of we the American people.

Hamilton: “And as the electors, chosen in each State, are to assemble and vote in the State in which they are chosen, this detached and divided situation will expose them much less to heats and ferments, which might be communicated from them to the people, than if they were all to be convened at one time, in one place.”

If the electors all meet in one place, expect Soros funded mobs to try to intimidate electors. As it was, protestors showed up where several states’ electors assembled in an attempt to coerce them into voting for Hillary. As it was, Democrat operatives sent millions of e-mails, letters, and faxes to electors pledged to Donald Trump to try to force them to vote against the will of the people in their states.

Hamilton: “Nothing was more to be desired than that every practicable obstacle should be opposed to cabal, intrigue, and corruption. These most deadly adversaries of republican government might naturally have been expected to make their approaches from more than one quarter, but chiefly from the desire in foreign powers to gain an improper ascendant in our councils. How could they better gratify this, than by raising a creature of their own to the chief magistracy of the Union?”

The Mueller snipe hunters reluctantly concluded recently there was no conniving between Donald Trump and the Russian government to win the election. In fact, President Trump is trying to break the Russian control of the European natural gas market, he has ordered the bombing of Soviet mercenaries in Syria, he is embargoing Iran and North Korea – two client states of Russia, and he has built up ties with traditional Christian politicians in Eastern Europe. All of these have harmed Vladimir Putin’s power.

By comparison, the Russian government gave the Clinton Foundation almost $150 million to ensure Hillary would OK the transfer of 20 percent of America’s uranium reserves to Russian control. When Bill was the candidate, Chinese government entities gave his campaign millions of dollars in exchange for him okaying the export of nuclear missile technology to China. The Clintons also okayed the transfer of millions of manufacturing jobs to China and Indonesia for foreign money.

The Clintons are the definition of creatures of foreign government control.

To their discredit, many senators and representatives in both parities also take globalist money to sell out American workers. That’s why corrupt Paul Ryan and corrupt Mitch McConnell, the GOP House and Senate leaders, stalled on building The Wall. Their corporate masters want cheap alien labor. That’s why many Dems and GOPers want H-1B visa holders from India and China to invade our tech companies. They will drive down wages, force Americans out of these jobs, and vote for globalist politicians.

Hamilton: “The business of corruption, when it is to embrace so considerable a number of men, requires time as well as means.”

Even while outspending Donald Trump two to one, Hillary lost to him. Even while taking over the Democrats’ national party apparatus, getting debate questions fed to her, playing other tricks against Bernie Sanders to keep him away from the Democratic Party nomination, and laundering tens of millions of dollars for her campaign thru the shell of the broke Democratic National Committee with the aid of Debbie Wasserman Positive and “brain dead buffalo” (said Hillary) Donna Brazile, Hillary lost to him.

Even while working with corruptocrats in Broward County, Florida, Detroit, and Philly to try (unsuccessfully) to steal Florida, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, Hillary lost to him.

Even with all the Soros rent-a-mobs working for her, Hillary lost to Donald Trump.

Even with all the lying and other fellatious work the media did for her, Hillary lost to him.

Even when scumbag vulture capitalist Mitt “The Catcher” Romney (a latter day satan) and several other GOP opponents of Donald Trump got CIA punk Evan McMullin to split the anti-Democrat votes in a few states, Hillary lost to Donald Trump. However, McMuffin picked up more votes in Minnesota than the difference between Hillary and Mr. Trump. In other words, neverTrumper McMuffin likely threw the state from Mr. Trump to Hillary. (You may see similar electoral college stunts from neverTrumper Copperheads in 2020.)

Even while colluding with failed Green politician Jill Stein to make calculated challenges to Trump voters in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, Hillary lost to him.

Even with her surrogates threatening electors and their families, Hillary lost to Mr. Trump.

Hamilton: “Talents for low intrigue, and the little arts of popularity, may alone suffice to elevate a man to the first honors in a single State; but it will require other talents, and a different kind of merit, to establish him in the esteem and confidence of the whole Union, or of so considerable a portion of it as would be necessary to make him a successful candidate for the distinguished office of President of the United States.”

FDR was the master of popularity and low intrigue. But he did enough good at times to retain the good will of the American public. LBJ, IMHO, committed the lowest of low intrigue by helping the Deep State murder JFK. Against a horrible opponent (Barry “Planned Parenthood” Goldwater), LBJ won in a landslide. But the public turned on him when they grasped what a scumbag he was. He decided not to seek re-election.

The Clintons are in a class by themselves as masters of low intrigue. Dozens of people whose lives were inconvenient to them in America wound up dead. So did thousands of Serbs. The Clintons still would not have won if Ross Perot, a master of inflated ego, hadn’t run as a splitter candidate to knock out fellow Deep Stater George HW Bush.

Barack Obama, for all his faults, was running against other low intriguers like John McCain and Mitt Romney. The public did not have good choices in either election he won.

Obama, Hillary, and the Deep State spied on Donald Trump and his people, and used the FBI and the Justice Department to obstruct President Trump, spread false rumors about him, and have him and his associates investigated for several years. They are all low intriguers, more worthy of prison time than public office.

Only the Deep State’s murder of President Kennedy, and the Copperheads’ complicity in the Civil War and the murder of Abraham Lincoln were lower intrigue than this. And I still don’t rule out one or more attempts on President Trump’s life while he is president. Even some in the Secret Service have intrigued against him.

Donald Trump won 30 states to 20 for Hillary.

Trump won seven of the top 10 in population. Only California, New York, and Illinois went for Hillary. Many of the Hillary voters were illegals. Still others were Chicago dead, New Yorkers who had left the state but whose IDs were used for votes, and California “harvested.” Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Georgia, and North Carolina voted for Trump.

Among states 11-20 in population, Hillary took leftist Washington, eastern Massachusetts and New Jersey, and DC colonies Virginia and Maryland. Trump took Arizona, and heartland states Tennessee, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Indiana.

Among states 21-50, Hillary took 12 and Trump took 18. Among the states with five or fewer electoral votes, Trump took seven Western and Plains states big in area and small in people. But Hillary took New Mexico and seven states all tiny in size and numbers plus Swamp DC.

Alaska, red and pink counties voted for Trump in 2016. Size matters.

President Trump won 2600 counties. Hillary won 500. Mr. Trump campaigned nationwide for his national victory.

Most of Hillary’s votes came from Democrat controlled cities, which are crime-infested, welfare-ridden, illegal alien-sanctuarying, doper-friendly, and perv-dominant. Lawyers, public school payrollers, other government payrollers, and those in media and entertainment voted heavily Democrat. If you make money on crime, shiftlessness, invasion, and perversion, or if the use of dope or the use of your organs in an objectively disordered manner affects your judgment, you are probably not someone who should be electing a President or any other elected official.

Hillary supporter? Did his precinct let Scooby Doo vote too?

Trump’s people are mechanics, engineers, construction workers, farmers, miners, industrial workers, ranchers, loggers, small business people, working sales people, and those families who are most likely to provide military volunteers and first responders. If you work and support heroic public service, your judgment and sense of citizenship is sound.

Despite all the dirty tricks against him, President Trump had more of a national appeal. Hillary’s numbers, inflated by illegals voting and other felony vote tampering schemes, still were not enough. More people voted against Hillary than for her, even with Democrat vote fixing.

The Electoral College worked properly in 2016 yet again. It was a firewall against corruption and vote fraud.

The Democrats are right about the 3/5 rule in the Constitution before the Civil War. It used to be that a slave counted as 3/5 of a free person for measuring congressional districts and thus electoral votes. By counting nonvoting slaves in this manner, Democrats in the South unfairly boosted their congressional districts and electoral votes due to the 3/5 rule. This went away after the Civil War. Democrats won’t tell you Democrats profited from this 3/5 rule. Democrats also won’t tell you their leaders voted overwhelmingly in the free states against the 13th Amendment, which banned slavery and the badges of slavery.

Democrats are trying something similar now. They are fighting the US Census Bureau in attempts to determine how many non-citizens live in the country. Since non-citizens cannot vote (legally, anyway), they should not be counted for purpose of congressional redistricting. Honest tallies of the foreigners would cost Democrats House seats, electoral votes, money, and power. That’s why, like they did in the days of slavery, the Democrats are taking the low unethical approach to cover up the noncitizen status of millions of people to get more Congressional districts, electoral votes, power, and money.

Hard work for the public, and honest attempts to carry out campaign promises, combined with the desire to avoid needless foreign wars and a desire to build the economy to lift as many Americans as possible are what President Trump is doing to merit re-election.

By comparison, President Trump’s Democrat opponents are trying to be popular instead of good. They will fool many people, but not enough voters to steal re-election from President Trump. Most people who will vote in 2020, especially in the states that can return President Trump to the White House, are aware that compared to Mr. Trump, none of his opponents for the White House are qualified to do anything much more complex and productive than picking dog excrement off a lawn.

Marcus T, I hope that hits the spot for you and all our other “Valiants.” Who’d have thought, as we were tearing up our salt and pepper corduroy pants and engineer blue work shirts on the blacktop of our parish school playground, that our fourth grade teacher Miss Maga would have such a prophetic name?

Extra credit: Miss Maga, Sister LaVerne, Mrs. Jones, Sister Cornelia, Mrs. Lupp, Sister Eucharia, and other Valiant teachers liked extra effort. See the short article following.

WE CAN SHOW YOU HOW TO BE YOUR OWN DETECTIVE.

THE BASTARD FATHER OF TODAY’S DEMOCRATIC PARTY

Thomas Jefferson intended to drop Aaron Burr as his running mate for the election of 1804. So Burr ran for governor of New York. Alexander Hamilton, also a New Yorker, disparaged Burr’s character publicly. Hamilton’s opposition cost Burr the election. Burr challenged Hamilton to a duel. Since it was against the law to duel in New York, they did it in Weehawken, New Jersey, where state officials were more lax about enforcing the law. Hamilton accepted, and Burr shot him dead on July 11, 1804.

Burr the Veep of the country fled. He escaped prosecution in New Jersey because Hamilton didn’t die in New Jersey. After Burr dropped him, Hamilton’s friends took him across the Hudson River to New York City, where he died the next day. Since Hamilton died in New York, New Jersey officials let Burr off the hook.

After Burr’s term as vice-president ended in 1805, he leased many thousands of acres of land in Louisiana, in the part of the state still controlled by the Spanish rulers in Mexico. After the French and Indian War in 1763, the French had to give up all of present-day America east of the Mississippi River to the British. The French ceded the portions of present-day America west of the Mississippi River to the Spanish. So the Spanish would own New Orleans up to the Twin Cities and west until 1800.

Napoleon in 1800 forced the Spanish to give France the territory France ceded to the Spanish in 1763. A slave uprising in Haiti cost the French that territory in 1803, and Britain’s navy could keep Napoleon from sending troops to Haiti or elsewhere in the New World. So when American diplomats approached him in 1803 to get rights for Americans to buy or at least rent the port of New Orleans (where goods of the Midwest and the Upper South would go for export), Napoleon offered them all of the French holdings in America west of the Mississippi River. President Jefferson jumped at the chance to get the land, and got a treaty approved authorizing the spending of $15 million to meet Napoleon’s asking price. We got the land in 1803.

Spain still owned portions of southern and western Louisiana, and it was here where Burr intended to set up shop. His real scheme was a madcap plan to fight the Spanish government in Mexico City, or to help Mexican natives overthrow them, and then carve out an “empire” of Spanish and Mexican land in Texas and Louisiana, and grab New Orleans.

Burr conned a number of honest Americans, including Andrew Jackson, into giving him some help for a purported scheme of bolstering American defenses against Spain in Louisiana. Jackson had lost out in his bid to be military governor job in Louisiana. He didn’t suspect Burr, but he did suspect Burr’s co-conspirator General James Wilkinson, who beat him out for the military governor assignment.

Wilkinson took bribes from the Spanish to disclose American plans in the Louisiana Territory. We had a border dispute with the Spanish, and Wilkinson’s treason would help them in any coming war.

Andrew Jackson offered President Jefferson his help to defend America from attacks from all quarters. He also sent word of his suspicions about Wilkinson.

Wilkinson turned on Burr to save his skin. Burr fled; American authorities captured him and returned him to Virginia for trial.

President Jefferson pressed to have Burr tried for treason. He was definitely guilty of violating the Neutrality Act for trying to instigate a war with Spain. But there was not enough evidence to hang him for treason. Burr won acquittal.

However, Burr was ruined beyond repair as a politician. He fled to Europe. Later on he came back to New York City and worked as a lawyer.

Why is Burr reviled? One historian said of all the politicians and officers of the Revolutionary War era, Burr was the only one (not counting Benedict Arnold) who others viewed as having entered politics primarily for personal gain and was willing to sell out the public in the process. Burr started unfair sliming at a national level, he got New Yorkers to vote early (and often), and he shot to death a man who exposed him for his crookedness. Further, he escaped treason charges despite plotting against the United States and risking war with Spain for his own benefit. In other words, Burr, and not Jefferson or Jackson, is the bastard father of the Democratic Party in all that its leaders and activists stand for today.

Plus, Burr’s name is apt. Many top Democrats seem to have a Burr where the sun doesn’t shine. Perhaps that explains their agitated fidgeting.
